I've just started using the Jetpack plugin but with reservations about the performance. If your website has to rely on any external resources then you are taking a risk. You have to rely on that external resource to be 100% reliable to guarantee that your own website wont be affected.
This issue adds weight to the argument against using plugins like this.
I'll be looking for an alternative as this is type of situation is bad for a business website. Perhaps not so much for personal pages.
If there's a method of running Jetpack locally without using external APIs then it would be a much better solution
